Celebrate inspired living near our apartments in Navy Yard, DC.

There’s no shortage of bold, new and exciting ideas in DC. We live in a city of vibrant people who explore, experiment, and push the boundaries to create thrilling experiences for us all. No place is that more evident than in Navy Yard.

From the bold blend of Korean and Mexican cuisines at Takorean to the innovative and always evolving beer selection at Bluejacket to the sweet, creamy classic and original options at Ice Cream Jubilee, there’s a cavalcade of creative flavors that fill the neighborhood. All you have to do is venture out to inspire your taste buds.

If you want to be inspired by visual stimuli, Culture House DC, formerly the Blind Whino, is a hidden gem near Navy Yard. If you haven’t made a trip to the building, you must. The former church was reinvigorated with an extremely colorful paint job, turning it into its own piece of art. Head over this weekend to see Mark Kelner’s Solaris exhibit (on view until July 7)!

And, of course, there’s Canal Park. From Monet to Van Gogh, Ansel Adams to Georgia O’Keefe, practically every artist that ever lived drew inspiration from the natural world to stoke the fire of their creativity. And with Canal Park steps away, when you live at Harlow, inspiration is at your doorstep to take in whenever you like.

Ambitious spaces

When you live in such an energy-filled neighborhood, you’re bound to bring some of that spirit home with you. You’ll find a variety of spaces to unleash your creativity when you come back to Harlow.

When you come back from the Sunday farmers market in Canal Park with a selection of fresh goodies, a chef-inspired kitchen is waiting to help you try out different ways to create edible masterpieces out of your ingredients. Or you could take your bounty to the roof and fuel your fire with fire at the grilling stations. Delicious ways to feed your imagination are all around.

Show your inspired side by sprucing up your space with an outward expression of you. What’s your vision for your walls? If painting a picture in the park isn’t your thing, venture out to the waterfront, the National Mall or wherever with your camera (or phone) to capture scenes and moments that speak to you. You can make touch-ups at the Harlow computer workstations or chill out and tweak the photos in your apartment. Print your favorites and frame them for a personal touch that will brighten up your walls and help tell your story.

There are plenty of spaces at Harlow to explore what inspires you. Swing by for a visit and we’d love to show you around.
